These are the terms for using PrintProtractor. It is a free tool that makes a print-to-scale protractor, plus a few guides. By using the site, you agree to what is set out here. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

The tool is free and provided as is

PrintProtractor is free to use. We provide the tool and the guides as is and as available, for general use, without any warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not promise the site will always be up, error-free, or fit for a particular purpose. We may change, pause, or retire any part of it at any time.

Printed accuracy depends on your printer

The protractor is drawn to exact physical dimensions, but the size on paper depends on how you print it. You must print at 100 percent with page scaling set to None or Actual size, and you must confirm the result by measuring the calibration bar before you rely on any angle. A printer set to fit to page will change the size, and that is outside our control.

So you must do the one check the tool cannot do for you: measure the printed calibration bar. If it does not read its stated length, reprint at actual size. The output is a tool to help you measure and draw, not certified equipment, and you are responsible for how you use it.

Acceptable use

Use the site for your own lawful purposes. Do not try to break, overload, scrape in bulk, or interfere with the site or the servers behind it. Do not use it to do anything illegal, to harm others, or to send spam or abusive messages through the contact form. The contact form is for genuine messages only. We may block access if you misuse the site.

Intellectual property

The design, text, code, guides, and branding of PrintProtractor are ours and are protected by copyright and other rights. You may use the tool and print or save the protractors you generate for your own work, personal or otherwise. You may not copy the site itself, rebrand it, or pass it off as your own.

Third-party links and services

The site may link to other websites, and in future may show ads served by third parties. We do not control those sites or ads and are not responsible for their content or their practices. Following a link or an ad is at your own risk, and their terms and privacy policies apply once you leave.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or from relying on its output. That includes a measurement that turns out wrong because of a print-scale setting, wasted paper or time, lost data, or lost profit. Because the tool is free and printed accuracy depends on a check you must perform, you use the site at your own risk. Nothing here removes a liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, that counts as accepting the updated terms.
